Our Lawful Observer Courses are certified and accredited by Highfield Qualifications, the main awarding organisation in the UK, and are suitable for learners 18 and over. They can be used by NGO’s who work within the rule of law principles, Enforcement Agents, Private Security, and private individuals.

We hold a full course prospectus that includes our policy documentation, learner support material, internal assessment, insurance and complaints procedures.

We deliberately keep our course fees affordable to ensure they remain accessible to all.  We firmly believe in the importance of this training in the current climate and for every booking made, a percentage will go towards subsidising those who cannot afford the course. Lawful Observer Courses

Course:  Powers of Arrest, Detainment & Conduct [modules 1 – 4 only]
Type: Online
Duration: 1 Day [09:30 to 17:30]

Course Introduction

A one-day online course that serves as an introduction to the full Lawful Observer training usually undertaken over a period of three days and covering 13 modules. This course covers 4 of those modules and will count as credits towards full course certification when students complete the remaining 9 modules within three months.

Course Focus

This course focuses on critical aspects of common and statute laws employed by the Police in public order situations and other incidences. Specifically, police powers employed to arrest, detain for searches & in the prevention and detection of crime and public disorder.  

It is intended to establish foundational practices and enhance existing practices, where applicable, and primarily focused on community-based intervention to challenge corrupt policing practices and breaches of Human Rights Act Articles.

Course Outcomes

This course is designed to provide the student with a robust understanding of all relevant legislation, best practice police conduct and the correct procedures for gathering and processing information, intelligence and evidence.

Students will learn how to identify and gather evidence of unlawful/criminal behaviour to a standard capable of instigating prosecution(s).  It will develop the learners understanding of how to conduct themselves and evidence crimes & offences in a fair, transparent, and imputable manner, to be able to hold perpetrators accountable for their actions by due legal process.

Course Introduction

A three-day course undertaken on site, with possibility of one of those days being online if unavoidable. This course covers 13 modules in total and is fully certified.  It’s main purpose is to enable the establishment of a stand-alone organisation that can and will operate in both Common and Statute Law. It is vital that Lawful Observers are armed with all the knowledge necessary to function effectively and within the boundaries of the laws, as understood today. Recognising this does not negate the overriding principle that Common Law is the bedrock of our society.
